Preschool Author Study Printables are for you – the teacher or parent who is embarking on an Author Study with kids ages 3-5. It is a printable pack with easy to use pages to share what they’ve wondered and learned during your author study.

When I launched our 2020 Author Study Challenge I searched high and low for information and resources for author studies. The information was plentiful (author studies rock is the consensus!) and so were the printables….for older kids. If you’re doing our Author Study Challenge, or one of your own, with school aged kids you are covered! Here is a sampling of varied options. Not so much if you are working with preschoolers.

For the most part these all had small boxes, tiny lines for neat handwriting, and questions that would be over the head of most earlier readers. Does this mean preschoolers shouldn’t do author studies? Of course not! It just means that they need something a little different.
